About Our PTA

National PTA® is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. For 125 years, PTA has worked with school communities and decision makers to solve the toughest problems in our nation’s history.

The Oak Grove Elementary School PTA  is a community was established to support the students, teachers and staff of The Oak Grove Elementary School PTA is a community of parents and staff that was established to support the students, teachers and staff of OGES. 

Mission:

Growing a supportive and enriching community for all students, staff, and families.

Goals:

  • Improve communication between the school, PTA, and families

  • Engage and advocate for each student and family

  • Support our teachers in pursuit of educational success

Our 2022-2023 Accomplishments

  • Supported cultural arts within the classroom by sponsoring special guests for each grade-level, including poets, artist and story tellers.

  • Invested in continued teacher learning by providing substitutes for classrooms, allowing teachers to partake in mandatory statewide training.

  • Beautified our campus through school-wide beautification days.

  • Ensured that all students have access to enriching reading materials through our book fair's "All for books" fund.

  • Increased reading engagement through the purchase of new and updated books for our school library and classrooms.

  • Provided staff meals and special treats throughout the school year.

  • Provide over $16,000 in teacher grants for classroom use, including the purchase of flexible seating, social and emotional support products, curriculum and curriculum enhancers (such as manipulatives and educational games), document cameras and outdoor recess items.

  • Increase the use of technology available to students within the classroom through the purchase of digital subscriptions.

  • Supported school-wide events including two family movie nights and our school STEAM night. 

  • Ensured that all students had access partake in school field trips and special events.
